Ilocos Tour- Day 3
June 21, 2014
Paoay Sand Dunes, Ilocos Norte
On our third day, that early morning we headed to Paoay Sand Dunes. Not all of us went there, some of my in-laws stayed to prepare for our breakfast and lunch and clean the rented house, since we were scheduled to leave that day just after our sand dunes adventure. My hubby got sunburned when we went to Kapurpurawan Rock Formation so he was so sore and didn't bother to go with us.
The whole Ilocos tour, I would say the sand dunes adventure was the best among all the places we've been to. The 4x4 ride was so fun and it's an unforgettable experience, as well as the sand boarding, I can't explain the feeling, I will probably just post our video hehehe. At least I got to experience sand boarding and snow boarding in my whole life and I can compare the two now, and I would say the latter is better hehehe. The 4x4 ride is 500 Pesos per person which includes sand boarding. The drivers were so nice they even took our group pictures.
Baluarte, Ilocos Sur
After loading all our stuff on the bus we left Pearl Patio where we stayed for 2 nights. We went to Baluarte, it is a mini zoo and also an interactive wildlife facility, the entrance is free. We didn't get to explore much of this place since we came there late afternoon already and we were trying to catch up the daylight in Vigan. The kids were able to see and interact to some animals like bear cat, pony and tiger and birds like parrots, ostrich and more; also they got to experience to hold a snake. After spending an hour at the zoo, took some group pictures, bought some snacks and we headed to our bus for our Vigan trip.
Vigan, Ilocos Sur
We opted out some places that we had in our itinerary, we probably just so excited to see Vigan than any other places ;-) I was so stunned and fascinated of the view of Calle Crisologo it's like we were back in a Spanish era, love the Spanish style houses and its architectures and the cobblestone streets. We took the kalesa ride just to go around 2 to 3 blocks of Calle Crisologo and had the chance to buy "taho" my favorite snack. Taho is a soft tofu with syrup and tapioca on top. We spent a lot of time shopping, bought a lot of souvenirs and snacks. I even forgot to take pictures of the stores because of my too much excitement to shop hehehe. If only I could bring the dining wood furniture I will buy too hahaha.
By the time we were at Plaza Salcedo it was dark already, we watched the dancing fountain and laser lights show. After the show we rode our tour bus and we stopped by a restaurant (forgot the name) and ate dinner. It was around 11pm when we left Ilocos and arrived Paranaque City at 7am.
Below are the photos of Pearl Patio house located in Laoag where we stayed for 2 nights.

Our travel agency is
My Travelicious and Tour visit their website if you have questions. While we were on the bus, we enjoyed the free wifi included in the tour package ;-) but since we were 32 people sharing we still have to use our 2 pocket wifi which we brought ;-)
Here's the video of my unforgettable sand boarding experience.
