Manneken Pis, Brussels Belgium

Manneken Pis- is the popular landmark in Brussels.  It is a small bronze fountain sculpture of a naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin. You have to see this sculpture when you go to Belgium ;-)

Here's the side view of the manneken pis, it's just an ordinary statue.....why it's very popular(??) hehehe

Chocolate Store where Manneken Pis sculptures are displayed.  They even have the manneken pis chocolates

Escargot Food Stall

Here's one of the streets going to the Brussels' famous Grand Place

Took this shot because of the colorful poles

This is the Belgian waffle with ice cream on top, my breakfast

Another manneken pis statue in front of the waffle store, I think this one is better than the original statue hehehe, it's bigger....and colorful ;-)

Hmmm, don't know who are those heroes

This building is where you could find different Belgian chocolate stores and galleries

Hmmm yummy!

It's been a year since I went to Belgium for my training and I have only few posts since then.  I forgot to upload more pictures from Belgium, so I'm sharing them again for the second time here on my blog.  I think I want to go back to Europe but this time with my family.......I wish, I wish hehehe.

THE GRAND PLACE, BRUSSELS, BELGIUM

The Grand Place or Grote markt (in French) is the central square of Brussels. It is surrounded by Town Hall, Guildhalls and the Breadhouse. The square is the most important tourist destination in Brussels.

As I mentioned on my previous post, that I finally got a job and my first day was here in Belgium for 3 weeks training. For 1 week I just stayed at my flat, it was very cold it's around -8C and it just snowed 2 days before I came.

I asked my colleague if she can take me to Brussels and she accepted my request so we went last Sunday February 12. I was so thankful that I met her before she left to Italy otherwise I would have not seen this place or if I did see it by myself (without her) I would have only taken pictures of the buildings and places in Brussels without me in the pictures hehehe. And I'm so very thankful for her kind gestures of bringing me here eventhough she's been in Brussels twice during her stay in Belgium for her training.

Brussels from where we staying is a 1 hour and 20 minutes by train (without transfer) but you can choose other train that has 1 transfer and it will take you only for 54 minutes. But then we opted to take the longer trip to avoid hassle and transfer ;-)

It's been almost 2 weeks since I got here in Belgium but seems like a month or 2 already. My first time to be far away from my family for 3 weeks. And I still have 8 more days to go! I will miss my son's birthday on the 21st :-'( And now I'm sick, I had fever 3 days ago and until now I have cough and cold.

Oh I miss them so bad, there's no place like home.

PS:

I had unforgettable experiences during my first day here and during my first ride on the train to Brussels.....but I decided to keep it secret....hahaha.
