Friday Shootout- WATER
Friday Shootout is WATER.
Once again here's the brief overview of Misawa:
The City ofMisawa is located near the northeast tip of the Japanese main island of Honshu in
Aomori Prefecture . It is a town with a population of about 44,000, in which the Pacific Ocean lies to its east, picturesque Lake Ogawara to the west.
That means we have plenty of water too! Browse and enjoy my photos.

Last Monday, Memorial holiday in US [yes, we had our holiday too even we're in Japan, we are still Americans anyway who happened to live in Japan hehehe], we got a lot of oysters from a river that I forgot the name :-) .....[again hehehe]. I need to ask my friend what's the name of this river and we need to come back here to get more oysters.

Rice Fields in Spring
It's spring now!!! Let's take a look at our front yard :-) ....the rice field!

Spring (April 2009)- plowing of rice fields in front of our house
I think I have to wait for the "planting of rice"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's compare the 4 seasons in Misawa using the rice fields as the subject :-)
Summer of 2008, it was the end of July when we moved in our new house and saw the rice field!! I was so excited and grabbed my compact camera and took this shot.
Summer- rice were planted

Fall- sowing; after a week I took this shot again; the tractor (whatever they call that) is separating the rice from the hay and transferring the rice to the other tractor.
Fall (Oct 2008)- hay stacks

Winter- rice fields covered with snow
One of the yellow houses is our house and you can see the distance of our house to rice field :-) the one lane street separates us from the rice fields.

The tree, the barn and the rice field with snow

This was taken yesterday morning, the sun finally did show up (and even today yahoo!!!). I have to shovel a bit of snow from our driveway and saw this view from our house and so I grabbed my camera and took this shot. I'm just starting to familiarize with my new camera and I was testing my settings here and I don't know if this is a nice shot, for me it was hehehe.
If you will notice behind the tree is a shinto shrine and you will also see the barn. The left side is the rice field. There are lots of shinto shrine here in Misawa and even I live close by this shrine I don't know how people worship there. I don't see a lot of people coming in and out there and there's no parking area too.
